Creativity is having the ability to create your own ideas and having the passion and commitment to be able to put them into real life situations.

Game Of Consequences

Going along with the'Creativity' theme we were set a group task called 'Consequences'. As a group we had to come up with a sentence using different adverbs, nouns and verbs. The sentence that we came up with was "The beautiful flower hopped the running pig". From this we had to create a picture that would reflect the sentence. I think that my picture does show creativity as we had to use our imagination to think of what different pictures would illustrate the different motions and objects. Although it was a hard task it really made me think about how each object relates to each other and helped me in becoming more creative.

Our short film

In groups we were given a task to create a one minute short film which had to include the appearance of a crayon. We had to make sure that we used different shot sizes and camera angles and that there was no continuity errors as we wouldn't be editing the filming. At first i found this task to be rather challenging as i find a crayon somewhat uninspiring. As a group we decided to base the film around the crayons life, and we decided to shot it in a Big Brother style with diegetic narration informing the audience of what the crayon was doing. As much as we did find it a challenge i think it worked out well, we showed our elements of creativity by making the crayon the main character of the film and using it as if it were a person. We were given no prior instruction as to what the film had to be based upon we were just given a crayon, thus meaning we could be as creative as possible and didn't have to stick to any codes or conventions. If i were to do this again i would have spent more time on the plot of the film as i feel we could have been a lot more creative, overall i really enjoyed doing this task as we were given the freedom to do whatever we wanted.

My Own Way Of Being Creative
We were asked to come up with an idea to portray us being creative in our own personal way.I created this wall of images in my bedroom to reflect the my interests. It encompasses festival tickets, images of things i take interest in, for example music, fashion and bold bright eye catching posters. I feel this is creative as it shows my personality through the use of colours and words. It brings a sense of originality to my bedroom and is aesthetically pleasing. I feel this was a good way to express my emotion and overall portrays my originality. Overall i enjoyed this task and find being creative very enjoyable.

Overall the most important view on being creative is making sure that your ideas are original and are not influenced by others and view things/ideas in a new way. Linda Niaman states that creativity is 'The act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. Creativity involves two processes: thinking, then producing.' She also states that having the ideas in your head but doing nothing about them is having a good imagination but its the producing of the ideas that is being creative. However when looking at the Wikipedia theory it states that creativity has to be appropriate. When we are looking at film making we have to follow conventions to produce the film to make it appropriate. This limits the range of how creative a producer can be if they have to follow the conventions
